AL propaganda over Khaleda lie: Fakhrul
Awami League’s propaganda over Khaleda Zia’s London tour is fictitious and a blatant lie, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today.
“Awami League has smelled a conspiracy that Khaleda Zia met IS and Jamaat representatives in London. It is fictitious, baseless and a blatant lie,” Fakhrul said.
“Khaleda Zia does not believe in conspiracy and she does not need to do it,” Fakhrul said while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka this noon.
Claiming that a fabricated and arranged photograph has been made public in social media over the meeting, Fakhrul said Awami League and its agencies are spreading lies in a bid to divert people’s attention from the next general election.
BNP is positive over EC’s talks
BNP knows that no fair election will be held under the ruling party management, Fakhrul said.
“We want returning of democratic atmosphere in the country and holding of a free, fair and credible election and reflection of people’s mandates,” he said.
Retargeting his party’s plea of polls-time supportive government, Fakhrul said the incumbent Election Commission is not impartial.
“We did not accept the present chief election commissioner. Despite this, we are going to take part in talks with him,” he added.
