AL 'disappearing' BNP leaders to prolong power: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today said that the ruling Awami League has indulged in “unpredictable and indescribable misdeed” to prolong its state power.
Pointing finger at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, Khaleda said, “Peace will return in the country if this family is ousted from power.”
Khaleda also called up on the family members of those who have become victims of “enforced disappearances” in the recent years and the countrymen to offer prayers seeking immediate downfall of the ruling Awami League from power.
The former prime minister was addressing an iftar party hosted at a hotel in Dhaka in honor of the family members of those have been disappeared and abducted during the tenure of Awami League.
The government feels that BNP will be eliminated if its young and dedicated leaders and activists are disappeared, Khaleda said adding that the ruling Awami League is engaged in abduction spree intending to hang on to power forever.
Citing several instances of misdeeds of the government, she said Awami League came to power earlier but its “unpredictable and indescribable misdeed” took an acute turn during its current tenure.
“I believe that the repressive government must be ousted and then my disappeared party men will come back. We are waiting for this,” Khaleda said.
