15th JS session on May 2
The tenth parliament goes into its fifteenth session on May 2. The House is set to sit at 5:00pm.
President Abdul Hamid today convened the session exercising the power bestowed upon him by article 72 (1) of the constitution, said a release of the parliament secretariat.
According to the constitution, the president must convene a session by 60 days from the last sitting of the last session.
Before the House goes into session, the business advisory committee of parliament will sit in a meeting with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair to fix duration and businesses of the session.
Sources at the parliament secretariat said the session is likely to continue for a short period of time.
The last session of parliament was prorogued on March 11 having 31 working days.
The tenth parliament was formed through the January 5, 2014 election boycotted by the BNP-led 20-party alliance and most other political parties.
