Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today warned of tough punishment if anyone is found having links with militancy and terrorism.
"The perpetrators whoever they are will not be spared. It doesn't matter from which walk of life they come from," the prime minister said.
She was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Police Week-2014 at the Rajarbagh Police Line in the capital this morning.
"The modernisation of the police force will be continued to handle the challenge of security and crime," the prime minister told the law enforcers.
The strength of police force will be increased, she said, adding that recruitment is underway to meet the goal.
"Creating violence and anarchy, burning people and destroying public properties cannot be the work of a patriotic person," she said at the function.
"They also committed assassination in 1975," added Hasina, who also heads the ruling Awami League.
