A Dhaka Court today framed charges against Oishee Rahman and two of her friends in connection with the killing of her parents in August last year.
Judge Md Jahurul Haque of the Metropolitan Session Judge’s Court of Dhaka passed the indictment order after scrutinising the case diary and other relevant documents.
Oishee and two others, all now in custody, claimed themselves innocent.
The three, aged between 19 and 27, demanded justice after the charges were read out to them.
Two other accused are -- Asaduzzaman Johnny and Mizanur Rahman Roni.
The court fixed June 5 to start the trial of the case.
On March 9, Detective Branch (DB) of police pressed charges against Oishee and her friends for killing her parents -- Special Branch of Police inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and Swapna Rahman -- last year.
Their bodies were recovered from Chamelibagh residence in the capital on August 16 last year.
DB Inspector Abul Khair Matubbar, the investigation officer of the case, submitted two charge sheets -- one against Oishee, Johnny and Roni and another against Sumi -- before the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Dhaka.
According to the charge sheets, Oishee alone killed her parents. Johnny instigated the murders and Roni gave her shelter after the incident.
Sumi has been accused of assisting Oishee in concealing the bodies.
A separate charge sheet against Sumi was submitted as she is still under 18 and her trial will be held in a juvenile court.
Oishee, who had taken her O-level exams, turned herself in to Paltan police on August 17, a day after her parents' bodies were recovered. She was later remanded.
In confessional statement before a magistrate on August 24 last year, she said she alone had killed her parents and Sumi helped her to hide the bodies.
Sumi also confessed to helping Oishee.
The murdered couple's first child, Oishee, gradually became fascinated by the outside world and lost her ties with the family after she had got into bad company, like Jhonny and Roni, the investigator said in the charge sheet.
