Nothing to rejoice at Modi’s victory: Fakhrul
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the country is facing Indian multi-dimensional aggression and so the people here have nothing to rejoice at the victory of Narendra Modi in Lok Sava election.
“We are under threats of multi-dimensional aggressions of India. Not only water aggression, we are being affected by Indian cultural and political aggressions. So we have nothing to rejoice at Modi’s victory,” Fakhrul said.
He was speaking at a discussion on “Bangladesh is in the grip of Indian Aggression: Way to get rid and fit to be done” organised by Aggression Protirodh National Committee at the Jatiya Press Club.
“India alone is not responsible for the aggressions as it is serving its own interest by using our silent role. We have yet been able to form a national unity to uphold our dignity in the face of such aggressions,” he added.
The BNP spokesperson said his party is not rejoiced at the victory of Narendra Modi while the ruling Awami League has become nervous and is making remarks irrelevantly.
“It is not BNP, rather the ruling party that has been nervous as the BJP has gained landslide victory in the just concluded general election,” he said.
Alamgir also criticised those who are engaged in telling that the BNP has been rejoiced by Modi’s victory.
India as an independent state has arranged its Lok Sabha election in a democratic manner, he added.
“We expect resolution of the prevailing bilateral issues between the two countries in a friendly and hospitable manner. I believe that the new government of India will pay heed to the sentiments of Bangladeshi people to resolve the bilateral issues,” he added.
