No room for militancy: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said there is no room for terrorism, militancy, money laundering and corruption on the soil of Bangladesh.
“We want to establish Bangladesh as a peaceful nation in South Asia,” she said while inaugurating a four-day programme marking the International Mother Language Day at the auditorium of International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
Hasina said, “We were known as a country of militants in the world and Bangladesh was black-listed after 2001. Now, Bangladesh is no more known as a black-listed, militant and corrupt country.”
The premier said the nation has achieved evening thing including the independence and right to mother language through struggle and huge sacrifice. “Nothing has been achieved for the nation without sacrifice.”
“We did not bow down our head to anyone and won’t do to anyone in future. We will protect the spirit of the War of Liberation at any cost,” she said adding that they are ready to make any sacrifice for the welfare of the countrymen.
The PM said her government’s aim is to build a developed country by the year 2041.
