Seminar on Satellite Research Activities at BRAC University
Dr. Arifur R. Khan, postdoctoral researcher of Laboratory of Spacecraft Environment Interaction Engineering (La SEINE) and Center for Nano-Satellite Testing (CeNT) Laboratory of Kyushu Institute of Technology (KIT), Japan, conducted a seminar on “Satellite Research Activities in KIT” on August 17, 2013 at BRAC University. He explained different aspects and scopes of space researches, including nano-satellite building and testing, durability test of solar cells, space-grade materials degradation, electrical properties of insulators and testing of various electronics. He also explained the effect of plasma, electron beam, UV and atomic oxygen in space environment.
Present there, Dr. Mohammad Khalilur Rhaman, Associate Professor of CSE Department at BRAC University, informed that the university is going to collaborate on teacher and student exchange and technology transfer with KIT very soon. As part of this collaboration, one faculty from BRAC University received MEXT scholarship to pursue his PhD from the Nano-Satellite laboratory.
