Political unrest affects tourism

Tourists of foreign countries want to spend more money and time to see the natural and archaeological beauties of the world. They visit different countries. But they do not visit those countries where tourists' safety is not ensured. Tourist attractions of Bangladesh include archaeological sites, historical mosques and monuments, resorts, stretched beaches, mangrove forest, tribal people, diversity of riverine life and wildlife which attract domestic and foreign tourists.
The government is earning huge amount of foreign currency from inbound tourism. But at present, we are losing our foreign currencies because of political unrest in the country. Hundreds of people already died; many people from minority community have become homeless; students are passing their times with anxiety; and businessmen cannot run their business safely because of hartal and vandalism.
It is a matter of regret that our electronic and print media have been airing these issues regularly. As a result, foreign tourists get a negative idea about the country. The government and the opposition should work together to build a better, tourist-friendly Bangladesh.
