Fire at Ctg chemical factory under control
A fire that broke out at a chemical factory near Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium this morning has been brought under control.
Twelve firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 11:20 am, said Farooq Hossain Sikdar, assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
"No causalities were reported in the incident," said the fire service official.
"On information, six units of the fire service went to the spot after the fire broke out around 10:35 am today. Later six more units joined to bring it under control," he said.
However, the cause of the fire could not be known immediately, said Farooq.
"The first test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan which is underway at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium was not affected due to the fire," added Farooq.
