The BNP-led 18-party opposition combine has threatened the government with an "even tougher agitation programme" if its demands, including cancellation of parliamentary polls schedule, are not met by Thursday.
BNP spokesperson Salahuddin Ahmed announced the opposition's stance through a video message from an undisclosed location around 11:30am today.
The opposition went on road, railway and waterways blockade from Saturday demanding cancellation of 10th parliamentary election schedule, release of detained opposition leaders and installation of a non-party caretaker government to oversee the next parliamentary election.
The blockade will continue till 5:00pm Thursday.
