Ctg student lands in hospital with teacher's kicking
A student was seriously injured when a teacher kicked him at Little Jewels English Medium School yesterday.
The injured Syed Ali Ahmed, 15, a student of class VII, is undergoing treatment at the casualty ward of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
School authorities suspended teacher Ziaul Haque immediately after the incident.
The student's father Kamal Ahmed, a garment businessman, said he would take legal action against the teacher.
Sources said Ziaul slapped Ali during a chemistry class test reportedly for cheating. Then he took Ali to an adjoining room and kicked him. Right after that the student started vomiting blood, they added.
Being informed, mother of the student rushed to the school and raced her son to a nearby clinic. Later, the injured was transferred to CMCH.
Terming such occurrence unacceptable the school Principal Dilruba Ahmed said they immediately dismissed the teacher and are going to take legal action against him.
Teacher Ziaul told The Daily Star that Ali was distributing the question papers without his permission so he slapped him.
When asked about kicking the student, the teacher said he did not recall kicking him.
Lying on a bed at CMCH casualty ward Ali said, “As my question paper slipped from my hand I leaned down to pick it up but my teacher first slapped and then kicked me.”
When contacted over phone yesterday afternoon Ali's mother Noor Ushaer said her son was under close observation at CMCH and the doctors are assessing him for any internal injuries.
