New govt to fight graft, check price hike of essentials

Different socio-political, cultural organisations and professional congratulated Awami League-led grand alliance yesterday on its historic landslide victory in the just concluded 9th parliamentary elections.
In separate statements, they expressed hope that the new government would be formed soon and it would fight corruption, terrorism and price hike of essentials, ensure transparency and accountability in a bid to establish good governance.
Bangladesh Mahila Parishad called on the alliance to form such an egalitarian government that would establish human rights and ensure a discrimination-free country.
Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association and Bangladesh Jute Association expressed their hope that the next government would be able to keep the country's economy stable and fasten its capital flow.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Shamannay Parishad urged the grand alliance to start the process in order to execute the trial of war criminals soon.
Proshika and Bangladesh Garments Worker Unity Council hoped to see Bangladesh a country of peace and harmony after the new government is formed.
Hailing the AL-led grand alliance, Bangladesh Nari Mukti Andolon said that in the coming new years, people expect to discover a new Bangladesh without any sort of discrimination, oppression and exploitation.
Sheikh Hasina Mukti Sangram Parishad, Austria, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and Bangladesh Besarkari Prathomik Shikkhak Samity hoped that the new government would bring a wind of change in the country for the welfare of the countrymen.
Political Parties Sammilita Islami Jote, Democratic Revolutionary Party, Democratic Left Alliance, Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal (ML) and Bangladesh Islami Oikya Jote said the new government will make the country non-communal, democratic and hunger-free.
Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (Baira), Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Welfare Front, Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Moitri Parishad, Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Educational Institutions' Employees Federation, Jatiya Olama-Mashayekh Shamannay Parishad, Bangladesh Nirman Sramik League, Dakkhin Bangla Jubo Kalyan Samity, Mehendiganj Unnayan Sangram Parishad, Bangladesh Biplabi Ainjibi Shamannay Parishad also greeted the grand alliance for its victory.
