Trade fairs begin in Rajshahi, Jessore
A month-long international trade fair started in Rajshahi city on Sunday in a bid to promote local products and establish a link between the local and foreign entrepreneurs.
Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan, divisional commissioner of Rajshahi, inaugurated the fair organised by the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Collectorate playground in the city.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Muhammad Mahbub Mohsin and fair committee Chairman and also the RCCI Vice President Khandoker Mainul Islam were present on the occasion.
Over one hundred stalls and seven pavilions have been set up while businesses from Iran, Pakistan and India are taking part in the month long fair.
UNB adds: A month-long trade and industry fair began on local town hall ground on the day in order to boost trade and commerce in the region.
Deputy Commissioner Abul Hossain inaugurated the fair jointly organised by Jessore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nakshi Trade International.
President of the district chamber Shahidul Haque Milon presided over the ceremony.
Addressing the occasion, the deputy commissioner said the fair would increase publicity of various products and expand its market.
About 150 stalls have been set up at the fair.
