Gujjars to hold further talks with Raje govt
The Gujjar leadership today decided to hold further talks with the Rajasthan Government after community patriach Kirori Singh Bainsla was briefed on the proposals made by the state authorities for ending the 24-day-old agitation for ST status.
"Further talks will be held in Jaipur with the government," Bainsla told reporters after he was given details about the outcome of the two-day parleys between the two sides by a Gujjar team that flew in to Karwadi by a helicopter from the state capital.
"My presence in the talks will depend on the government's response to the fresh suggestions given by us. I will not be going to Jaipur for now," 70-year-old Bainsla, who is camping in this Gujjar agitation nerve centre, said.
