'Dialogue a routine work'
Convenor of Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Ferdous Ahmad Qureshi yesterday said nobody should give much emphasis on the dialogue between the government and political parties as nothing new can be expected from it.
"The dialogue between the government and the political bears no importance, as such talks had taken place on many occasions in the past with little success," he said at a press conference at his party office.
He said dialogue is not an important issue, but the government was unnecessarily giving emphasis on it.
"Even then," Qureshi said, "Some quarters are out to foil the dialogue raising many logical and illogical demands. There is an apprehension in public minds that a more complicated situation may arise in the country over the dialogue."
Replying to a query, Qureshi said there is no question of success and failure of the dialogue as it is a routine work of the government.
Appreciating the government for declaring a time for holding the national election, the PDP convenor said the winners in the elections would form the next government reestablishing the democratic government. "People expect the return of a normal situation in the country."
