<i>A proud mother honoured in Pabna </i>
A proud mother whose four sons and a son-in-law sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War was honoured at a reception marking the International Mothers Day.
Sayed Foundation, a local organisation organized the programme at Pabna Bonomali auditorium on Friday afternoon marking the occasion.
Rokeya Khatun's sons Mosaraf Hossain, Mostak Hossain, Monsur Hossain and Mokaram Hossain and son-in-law Eusuf Ali, who joined the Liberation War, were killed by the Pakistan occupation army.
The guests handed over Rokeya Khatun a crest of Mother's Day.
“I have nothing to say as I have lost the best gifts of my life. But I feel proud as they sacrificed their lives for the nation,” Rokeya Khatun said as she was showered with love and honour.
Pabna Edward College Principal Prof Hosne Ara Akhtar was the chief guest at the programme chaired by Principal of Green Leaf Kindergarten Rehena Mojid.
Founder of Sayed Foundation Md Tofazzal Hossain Tutul delivered the opening speech in the programme that began with a painting competition for children.
