Democracy in our setting

Our common people have much stronger desire to live in a democratic society than many nations, it is a fact historically proved. But, that very desired democracy is like the golden deer to us. We dream of it but cannot materialise it. There are some big turns in the history of our nations and at each turn we felt like catching that coveted thing. After some days people woke up again and could realize that they were trapped in the same old cycle.
History again offered us 1/11, a new turn. People from all walks welcomed that new turn. The media too joined the chorus and supported wholeheartedly every step taken by the government at the initial level. The anti corruption drive earned immense popularity.
But today's situation is different. People are confused. It is true that inept leadership caused huge damage to this nation. But corruption was not a monopoly of politicians, all must agree. How this anti-corruption drive has turned into anti-politics drive people could not sense properly. When the third/fourth class employees (of a few departments of government) have accumulated crores, the drive against them is not tough enough.
People's will must get supreme priority even if they elect so-called wrong leaders. People's representatives shall decide how to balance power and how to face challenges of the modern age.
We must not undermine people's choice. We expect the government will understand this very truth and ensure a free and fair election.
