Road crashes kill 5

Five people were killed and 31 others injured in separate road accidents in Chandpur, Rangpur, Chapainawabganj and Dinajpur on Friday and yesterday.
Our Chandpur correspondent reports, two labourers were killed and another was injured when a pickup hit a roadside tree at Purba Hatila in Haziganj upazila on Friday evening.
The deceased were Nasir Uddin, 20, son of Hasan Ali of Hatila village, and Anwar Hossain, 35, son of Yusuf Ali of the same village.
Injured Ismail Hossain, 22 was rushed to Haziganj Upazila Health Complex.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, a goods-laden truck from Bogra ran over Ariful Islam, 24, son of Joynal Abedin of Dharmadash area in Rangpur city, on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in modern intersection area at about 12:30pm yesterday, killing him instantly.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman died instantly when a bus ran her over on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Jaygirhat of Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur yesterday morning.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, motorcyclist Nazir Uddin, 30, of Kajla in Nachole, died as a truck hit him on Shibganj-Monakasha road at Dadanchak of Shibganj in Chapainawabganj yesterday.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reports, at least 30 passengers of a BRTC bus were injured as the bus skidded off the road and fell into a pond in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur on yesterday afternoon.
The injured were taken to Chirirbandar Upazila Health Complex and Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
