Another search party led by police recovered a body from the Naf river around 7:30pm. The deceased was identified as Nurul Alam, 55, of Katabunia in Teknaf.
Local sources said the family members of the missing victims were conducting searches in the sea to find the bodies.
Locals alleged that a number of bodies had been found during the search, but the relatives of the victims did not disclose the information to law enforcers fearing arrest.
They also alleged that the brokers had sent several boats to the deep sea to find the floating dead bodies and hide them.
According to the survivors, the boat started for Malaysia from Kachubunia Canal in Shahpari Island of Teknaf at midnight Wednesday and capsized.
Coastguard and BGB filed separate cases against 48 people including seven brokers in connection with the incident.
