10 BNP men hurt in BCL attack in Narsingdi
At least 10 BNP men were injured in an attack allegedly by Bangladesh Chhattra League (BCL) activists in Khanepur area of Palash upazila yesterday.
BNP Polash upazila unit arranged a discussion meeting on “National Revolution and Solidarity Day” in Khanepur area in the afternoon. BNP standing committee member and former minister Dr Abdul Moin Khan was the chief guest at the meeting.
When the meeting was going on, a group of BCL men swooped on it, leaving at least 10 people injured, local BNP sources said.
Later, the meeting was held at the same venue under police protection. The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex.
Narsingdi district unit of the party also held a meeting on the occasion on the shaheed miner premises of Narsingdi Government Girls' High School yesterday.
Chaired by district BNP President Khairul Kabir Khokon, the meeting was addressed, among others, by central leader advocate Sanaullah Mia, district BNP Vice President Sultan Uddin Molla, Joint General Secretary Harun-ur- Rashid and Organising Secretary Din Mohammad.
The speakers strongly condemned the attack on the party's discussion meeting in Polash upazila and demanded immediate arrest of the persons involved.
