Football returns to Sylhet
The first division football league returns to Sylhet today after a five-year absence when Abahani Krira Chakra take on Lauwai Krira Chakra under the floodlights. The last league was held in Sylhet in 2007. Fifteen teams will be participating in the league this time.
Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin Ahmed will formally inaugurate the event, the league committee chairman and Sylhet city corporation mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran informed at a press conference held at a city hotel yesterday afternoon.
The BFF president is also scheduled to visit the Sylhet Football Academy in the morning to assess the requirements of the project.
