moves into Television Round
“Sing with MLTR”, the talent hunt to select a Bangladeshi singer who would perform with Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR), is now in its television round. The panel of judges comprising of celebrated music icons, Shafin Ahmed (Miles) and Nasim Ali Khan (Souls), have already shortlisted the top 50 contestants. The contestants have performed at a live audition in the opening episode of the television round. The judges will select 10 finalists for the next rounds. The evaluation process was also supported by A.S. Zahir, director, Creinse Limited.
The 10 finalists will compete over the next week in the television round of “Sing with MLTR' contest, to be aired on Channel 9, to ensure a spot in the top 5. The top 5 contestants will perform in front of MLTR on June 21.
The audition round of “Sing with MLTR” will be aired on Channel 9 tonight at 11:15 pm and the first episode of the final round will be aired on June 15 at 10:45 pm.
Shafin Ahmed said, “This is a great moment for our music industry, as our young music talents are getting an opportunity to sing with a world renowned band like MLTR.”
His remarks were complemented by Nasim Ali Khan, who said, “I'm delighted to be a part of this event. It is an honour for Shafin bhai and I to be entrusted with this task of finding a music talent from our country who will share the stage with an international music band. I am also delighted to see contestants from as far as Khagrachhari and Sylhet registering for this contest.”
A.S. Zahir, director, Creinse Limited, said that the organisation was very happy with the overwhelming response from contestants all over Bangladesh in such a short period, which only went to show the keenness of young music talents to perform on a grand stage. “We are delighted to have Shafin Ahmed and Nasim Ali supporting our initiatives as judges. We are confident that at the end of the contest, we will be able to present a new music talent from Bangladesh, who will make us all proud and share the spotlight with MLTR,” he added.
Creinse Limited is the official organiser of the “Sing with MLTR” contest, while Airtel is the title partner for television round. Channel 9 is the exclusive television partner and Radio Today is the radio partner of the contest.
