Physics Olympiad starts today
Bangladesh Physics Olympiad-2012 kicks off in the port city today.
Presidency International School is arranging the Olympiad, first of its kind in the city, under the initiative of Bangladesh Physics Olympiad Committee.
The Olympiad examination and rally will start at 9:00am and 10:15am respectively on the school campus.
Following this, a discussion and film screening will be arranged at Shah Alam Bir Uttam Auditorium of Chittagong Medical College at 11:00am.
A total of 607 students of schools and colleges in the city will take part in the Olympiad under three categories.
Category-A will represent the students of class VII-VIII while B and C will represent students of class IX-X and class XI-XII respectively.
The organisers, at a conference held in Chittagong Press Club (CPC) earlier, said 20 winners will be selected from each category to participate in the national Olympiad to be held on the North South University premises on February 17 along with the winners of six other divisions.
Five winners from Category- C will be selected from the national Olympiad to take part in the 43rd International Physics Olympiad to be held in Estonia from July 15-24.
