The audio releases on Eid-ul Fitr saw a dominance of young artistes in the market, as their solo and mixed albums were bestsellers. The albums that were both commercially successful and popular include Arfin Rumey's third solo album “Bhalobashi Tomaye”, Prince Mahmud's “Nirbachita”, Belal Khan's mixed album “Anurag” and Prottoy Khan's “FnF”. Keeping up with the trends from last Eid, it is no wonder that albums by young guns were the favourite audio choices during the recent Eid-ul Azha as well.
Arfin Rumey's latest Eid release “Nilanjona”, a mixed album that's likely to be a hit, features talented vocalists of the time Nancy, Rumey, Mila, Porshi, Shuvo, Ayub Shahriar and lyrics by Anurup Aich, Rabiul Islam Jibon and Fuad Hasan. “Close-up 1” star Mehrab also released his second solo effort last Eid. Titled “Kancha Roud-er Alo”, the album features lyrics by Mehrab's father Aminur Rahman, as well Rabiul Islam Jibon and Shoeb.
After a three-year hiatus, “'Emotions”, the latest solo album by popular singer SI Tutul, was released last Eid. The album features 10 melodious songs. G-Series brought out a special compilation featuring 40 all-time hits of Kumar Bishwajit under the title “Shopner Anagona, Ekta Akash, Megher Palki and Premer Abash”. G-series also released “Kushumpurer Golpo”, a collection of songs from movies. Featured singers are: Ferdaus Wahid, Sabina Yasmin, Habib, SI Tutul, Milon Mahmud, Nancy, Protik Hasan, Porshi, Kobita and Arfin Rumey. Music direction and composition have been done by the father-son duo, Ferdaus Wahid and Habib.
Among other G-Series releases is the late singer Abid's “Nobo Anonde Jaago”. The album features 10 songs, including a duet -- “Tumi Robey Nirobey” -- with Fahmida Nabi, and another -- “Amar Hiyar Majhe” -- with Elita. Mostofa Shaon has arranged music for the album. Agnibina released Sandipan's sixth solo album with Hridoy Khan's music and Gunjon Chowdhury's lyrics.
“Shera Kontho 2008” winner Konal brought out her self-titled debut album, featuring music direction by Bappa Mazumdar, Fuad, Hridoy Khan and Prithwiraj. A highlight is a duet by Konal and Prithwiraj, titled “Hridoy Majhey”. The songs have been written by Shafiq Tuhin, Milon Mahmud, Shahan Kobondho and Rizvi.
Nancy, Kona and Paulbasha lent their voices to the album, “Sajid featuring Shihoron” -- the latest release by Deadline Music. CD Choice released a mixed album, “Bhalobashi Priya”, featuring SI Tutul, Nancy, Imran and Arnik. Prithwiraj has composed and directed music for his solo album “Dot” -- released under the banner of Laser Vision. Seasoned band Mohakal also released their self-titled album on the occasion of Eid. Actress Tarin's latest solo album “Akash Debo Kakey” has garnered attention. Sangeeta released Ruxy's solo album “Ghashphool-er Mala”, while G-Series launched “D-Rockstar” Shuvo's second solo album “Onek Kichhu”.
