Siddikur leaps up
Siddikur Rahman turned in a spectacular performance in the third round of the CJ Invitational in Korea yesterday to leapfrog to joint 24th position with an aggregate of 4-under-par 216. Siddikur, who was tied for the 48th position overnight, pulled off a brilliant 5-under-par third round score at the Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club on Saturday to stay 11 shots adrift of Korea's Lee Ki-sang who snatched the lead with an eight-under-par 64.
Siddikur started the day on the right foot with a birdie in the very first hole and then again in the third hole. A bogey on the sixth hole held him back for a while, but he compensated superbly with birdies again on the 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th holes to cap off his best round in recent months.
Lee Ki-sang, who has an aggregate of 15-under-par 201, leads America's Anthony Kim by a shot and tournament host KJ Choi by three in the 750,000 dollar event.
