Eight killed in road accidents

Eight people were killed in separate road accidents in Narsingdi, Gazipur, Feni, Netrakona,Thakurgaon and Panchagarh on Saturday and yesterday
Our Narsingdi correspondent reports: Two motorcyclists were killed on the spot when a jeep of upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) hit their motorbike at Narandi in Monohordi upazila.
The deceased are Delwar Hossain, 35, and Bazlur Rahman, 34.
Police seized the jeep of UNO Md Golam Mostafa while its driver managed to flee the scene.
The bodies were sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
UNB from Gazipur adds: A woman was crushed under the wheels of a bus at Board Bazar in Sadar uapzila.
Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound bus from Kapasia ran over Hawoa Khatun, 60, of Jamalpur when she was crossing the road.
Meanwhile, Motiru Rana, 20, a bus drive, was killed as a bus knocked him down at Borobari in Gazipur Sadar uapzila yesterday.
A correspondent from Feni says: A college student was killed when a three-wheeler lost its control and hit a roadside tree while it was trying to avoid a speed-breaker on Feni-Kutirhat road in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was is Mohammad Amanullah, 19, son of Abdul Khaleq, of Betgaon village of the same upazila and a first year honours student of Feni Govt College.
Following the accident, students of the college vandalised some vehicles and formed a human chain in the town.
Our Netrakona correspondent adds: A bicycle rider was killed on the spot when a truck hit him on Netrakona-Madan road at Tenga in Atpara upazila yesterday.
The deceased is Sanju Mia, 40, of village Palgaon of the same upazila.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent says: A motorcyclist was killed when the motorcyclist lost his control over the motorcycle and hit a roadside tree on Thakurgaon-Farabari road at Farabari village in Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased is Delwar Hossain, 19, son of Habibor Rahman of Uttar Bathina village of the same upazila.
UNB from Panchagarh reports: A speedy truck knocked down bicycle rider Iliyas
Hossain, 45, son of Budia Mohammad of Bhajanpur village of Bagulahagi
UP of Tetulia, leaving him dead on the spot at the village at 7:00pm yesterday.
