Two kids drown in ponds in Moulvibazar, Satkhira

A boy and a girl drowned in ponds in Moulvibazar and Satkhira districts on Wednesday.
Dipos Boidya, 10, son of Bijoy Boidya of Ramkrishna Mission Road drowned in a pond in Moulvibazar district town. The boy was a student of Srinath Government Primary School, reports our correspondent.
During the recess period at school on Wednesday, he played football with his classmates and then went to the nearby municipal office pond with others to have a wash.
All on a sudden Dipos fell in the pond. Hearing hue and cry, schoolteachers and others recovered Dipos and took him to a local private hospital where the physicians declared him dead.
In Satkhira, a three-year old girl drowned in a pond at village Bhaluka-Chandpur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday, reports our correspondent.
The victim was identified as Sabiha Khatun, 3, daughter of Rajab Ali of the village.
Quoting locals police said, Sabiha. while playing by the side of the pond near her house, all on a sudden fell in the pond and drowned at about 11 in the morning.
Local people recovered the body from the pond at about 12.15pm.
