'Protect rights of housemaids'

Speakers at a programme yesterday demanded a policy for protection of young housemaids and a code of conduct for their employers.
The demand came from a meeting on "Safer life of girl domestic workers project" organised by Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) in assistance with a Japanese NGO, Shapla Neer, at YPSA conference hall in the city on Monday.
The speakers also urged local government institutions and media representatives to cooperate for protecting the rights and security of female domestic helps.
YPSA director (finance) Palash Chowdhury presided over the meeting.
