China's zero tariff facility made effective
China has extended its zero-tariff facility for Bangladeshi products from yesterday.
As the Chinese government decided earlier, 4,752 products will receive duty free access to the major East Asia market, a press release of the Chinese embassy in Dhaka said yesterday.
The products include medicinal materials, plastic appliances, leather, timber, textile, readymade garments and poultry products.
Besides Bangladesh, 32 other least developed countries (LDCs) will enjoy the facility for exportable items to China.
China, at a meeting with the United Nations on millennium development goals, earlier agreed to provide the LDCs with the zero-tariff trade facility from July 1 to help them increase their export earnings.
