The lady in the picture named herself ‘Rupali Shagorkonna'.
‘Rupali Shagorkonna’ does not reside by the side of any sea; rather she lives by the great river Meghna. She had moved in there not so long ago, built her a hut and wrote her newly taken alias above the only door it has.
This middle aged woman seems to like to keep things to herself, may be that is the reason she chose to live in a self-induced isolation from the nearby slums.
By profession she is a vegetable retailer and appears to be a completely independent woman despite her severe poverty.
On a brighter note, her colourful clothing and makeup suggest that she successfully manages to satisfy her sense of narcissism and individualism.
What ‘Rupali Shagorkonna’ does may seem like an impossible task for other women living in that economic environment, that is, she never married and is completely self-dependent.
She is a lively person, open minded and a soul as free as a bird.
