Shahabuddin: An artist’s own war
Over three decades he has been living in Paris, the centre of the global art. But the artist is still featuring people and nature of Bangladesh in his paintings. The Bangladeshi expatriate artist Shahabuddin has become a name amongst the art lovers in Europe for his distinctive style: a kind of blending of oriental and occidental contemporary art form. Perhaps he is the only Asian artist who is ranked amongst the top artists in France. In the last Beijing Olympics his artwork was displayed amongst the top 50 contemporary artists of the world. Only six Asian artists including him got such a rare honour.

Ornithologist Enam Ul Haque has been watching wild birds in Bangladesh since 1990. The founder of Bangladesh Bird Club (established in 1996), Enam Ul Haque has been working as the National Coordinator of Bangladesh for Asian Waterbird Census since 2000.

For her unique rendering style Samina Chowdhury has attained huge popularity in Bangladesh. She has been singing since 1981 as a school student. Her debut playback song in the film Janmo Theke Jolchhi Mago took her to the limelight. She has also released a few popular solo projects directed by the leading music composers of the country. She learnt music from her parent eminent singer Mahmudun Nabi.

Rafiqun Nabi -- aka Ranabi, one of the leading artists of the country, practices experimental realism in his own distinctive style. He has combined the main motifs of the subcontinent with his unique lines. Romanticism and impressionism are mingled in his presentations in various media such as watercolours, acrylic and woodcut. In his predominantly figurative works, what he usually does, he has devoted himself simultaneously to using lines and colours in observing the material world.

Anisul Hoque on contemporary Bangladeshi literature
Anisul Hoque is a popular contemporary writer. A journalist by profession, Hoque writes novels, short stories, TV plays, poems and many more things. For his distinctive writing style Anisul Hoque has a good number of fans.
Papia on fusion in Tagore songs
Eminent Tagore singer Papia Sarwar has been rendering Rabindra Sangeet since mid-1960s on radio and TV. Graduated in music from Visva Bharati University established by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Shantiniketan under a scholarship, Papia Sarwar had outstanding academic results. More than that her unique style of rendering Rabindra Sangeet has made her one of the leading Tagore singers in the country.

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, who goes by his nickname, is a popular name of the current breed of talented musicians. Over the years this composer and singer has achieved success for his distinctive style. He got nationwide recognition for rendering songs in the debut album of popular band Bangla. However, Arnob earned a name after the release of solos and mixed albums such as Chai Na Bhabish and Hok Kolorab.Simultaneously his compositions of the jingles for commercials and TV serials took him to the limelight.

In conversation with Warfaze
Pioneering heavy metal band of the country Warfaze was formed in early 1984 by a group of young talents with a view to present metal and hard rocks featuring unique music and lyric. After a successful journey of 25 years, Warfaze has become one of the leading bands in Bangladesh by releasing six hit albums. Warfaze has also a good number of crowds in India.
