The chief judicial magistrate, Khulna, has asked the officer-in-charge (OC) of Batiaghata Police Station to record a case and take necessary legal action against nine 'rajakars' for killing a man during Liberation War in 1971.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Abu Ibrahim passed the order after hearing the petition of the complainant yesterday.
Complainant Abdullah Goldar of Baliadanga village under Batiaghata upazila of Khulna district filed the petition with the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on March 11, accusing nine rajakers of killing his father Moslem Goldar on the premises of Phulbaria Union Council office on December 11, 1971.
He also stated in his petition that the “rajakars” later dumped body of his father somewhere else, which could never be recovered.
The accused 'rajakars' are Rafiqul Morol and his yoiunger brother Belayet Morol of Baliadanga village, Mostafa Molla, Mohor Sheikh, Ashraf Ali, Gaffar Goldar and Abdul Hakim of Phulbari village under Batiaghata upazila, and Rajab Ali Sarder and Karbala Sarder of Rampal upazila of Bagerhat district.
Fifty-six lawyers pleaded for the complainant while two lawyers appeared for the accused.
