Delwar blasts govt for 'bid to defame BNP'

BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain yesterday alleged that the government is making a 'heinous attempt to destroy BNP' by using the August 21 bomb blast incident.

He expressed apprehension that such narrow-minded attitude of the government may disrupt the normal politics in the country.

"Government will be solely responsible for any circumstances if it does not refrain from such negative activities," he said in a statement issued yesterday.

Delwar condemned the "government's ill attempt" at using former state minister Lutfuzzaman Babar against Tarique Rahman and other important ministers of BNP-led four party alliance government in the name of interrogation in Task Force Interrogation cell.

"Government is propagating fictitious stories in the name of interrogation of former state minister of home affairs ignoring all laws and ethics," he said.

The BNP secretary general said it is now clear that the government is engaged in such mean attempt to defame BNP and make its leadership controversial before the people.

The BNP General Secretary everyday felt threat and threw some suspicious speeches after arresting the former state home minister. Reading the newspaper, we are very well informed now that how they have made Bangladesh is a place of extremists under direct supervision of state! The present government everyday arrests a lot of extremists and tried to know the name of culprits of 21 august grenade attack. Why the BNP GS suspects that Lutfozzaman Babor would be used against Tarique Rahman and other the then important ministers. May be some truths are hiding in there.

We observed that Mr Delwar is trying to say everyday that something will be happened serious! And government will be responsible for that! The government should note these speeches as sign of something and take necessary preparation to save the country from any conspiracy.

If he thinks so, why does he or his party not go to court and take resort to law?
