Zillur assures expats of all cooperation

Bangladeshi expatriates living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met President Zillur Rahman on Friday during his stopover there on his way to Turkey.

Some 150 Bangladeshi expatriates of different professions, including engineers, physicians, businessmen and community leaders, met the president at a local hotel, according a message received in Dhaka yesterday.

Another group of expatriate Bangladeshi women and children also met the president separately.

The expatriates welcomed the president in Dubai and apprised him of their activities.

The president exchanged greetings with them and assured them of his all-out cooperation in ensuring welfare of expatriate Bangla-deshis.

Zillur Rahman arrived in Dubai International Airport at 1:15 pm (local time) on his way to attend the Economic Summit of COMCEC (Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Coopera-tion) under the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on November 9.

He was due to leave Dubai for Istanbul by an Emirate flight yesterday.
