100 AL leaders sued by Barisal BNP leader

About 100 leaders and activists of ruling Awami League (AL) and its front organisations were sued on Friday night on charge of ransacking and setting fire to Barisal BNP office.

District BNP convening committee member Mantu Khan lodged the complainant under Speedy Trial Act.

Prominent among the accused are district AL publicity secretary Syed Anisur Rahman, AL district committee member Mashiur Rahman Mintu, district Jubo League president Zakir Hossain, Barisal city Chhatra League (BCL) convener Ziaur Rahman and B M College BCL joint conveners Rafiq Serniabad and Moin Tushar.

The accused broke open the doors of the three storied building housing the BNP office, ransacked it before setting fire to its rooms on Thursday evening causing damage to property worth Tk3,00,000, the BNP leader alleged.
