Chhayanaut held its monthly musical soiree, 'Srotar Ashor', at Ramesh Chandra Dutt Memorial Auditorium on November 6. The programme featured renditions of Tagore and Nazrul songs by upcoming singers.

The programme started with rendition of Rabindra Sangeet by Anima Roy, a Chhayanaut graduate. Anima performed “Pathey jetey jetey”, “Jodi jantem amar kisher byatha” and “Ogo nodi apon begey”.

Sanjay Kabiraj was the guest artiste. He performed Nazrul songs -- “Shey choley gechhey boley”, “Oi ghar bholano shurey”, “Poran priyo keno eley obelaye” and “Nilambori shari porey”.

Performance by Zibina Sanchita Haque, a former student of Chhayanaut, was next. Sanchita opened her performance with the Tagore song “Amar hiyar majhey lukiye chhiley”. Her repertoire included “Ami mar-er shagor pari debo”, “Oi shuni jeno charandhoni”, “Dhushor jibon-er godhulitey” and more.

The last artiste of the evening was Swapan Dutt. Swapan performed “Taar haath-e chilo”, “Jodi ei amar hridoy duar”, “Charan dharitey diyo”, “Ami kaan petey roi” and “Boro bedonar moto”.

The programme ended with a rendition of the national anthem.
