8 rescued from traffickers

BDR jawans in a drive on Wednesday evening rescued eight people at bordering Baraachra village while being trafficked to India. Sources said, a gang of human traffickers brought them from different districts in the name of giving them good job in India. Acting on a tip-off, a team of border guards raided the area and rescued the victims. The rescued people were identified as Nitya, 28, Haradhan, 20, Shoilen, 18, and Gauranga, 30, of Gopalganj, Bidhan, 25, of Narayanganj, Biswajit, 24, of Jessore, Sushanta, 22, of Madaripu and Mizanur, 32, of Dinajpur. Sensing presence of the BDR, the human traffickers managed to flee the scene.
