Bangabandhu Killers

Tuku inspects prison security

State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku yesterday inspected the security arrangements of Bangabandhu's killers at Dhaka Central Jail, who were awarded capital punishments by the court.

Tuku along with Home Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder, Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen Md Ashraful Islam Khan and other high jail officials went to the high security condemned cell Rajonigandha where the capital punishment awardees were staying.

He inspected the security arrangements in front of condemned cell number 5, 6, 7 and 8 where the detained killers of Bangabandhu were kept under close security surveillance.

He talked to the front guards and instructed the IG Prisons to ensure their foolproof security.

A senior official of the jail administration told the minister that all necessary precautionary security measures have also taken in the condemned cell. The jail authorities also set up monitoring instruments in Rajanigandha including mobile jammer, the official added.

He also told the minister that one of the capital punishment awardees has become crippled and others have been counting their days.
