Hello Mayor...
Is This Our Footpath?

The footpath of Dhaka City is either occupied by the construction materials or by the hawkers. Its funny that this evening a hawker in the Nilkhet more footpath (at the entrance of DU) told me not to stand there while I was waiting for my friends. Now it is time to reshape the definition of footpath.

We hear they have road inspectors, supervisors, engineers etc. but where are they? Are they only for adorning the chairs and kindly lightening the public coffer? Is there any sign of their activity? Roads and pavements are occupied by builders, dirt and filth littered everywhere, potholes in roads and lanes lie for months without care, streaming of roads and lane with countless rickshaws, allotment of every little bit of space to anybody on salamis and what not to hinder and harass public life? Where shall we get a remedy?

We don't know why people are being deprived from the minimum city service even after paying the taxes.

City mayor should be more careful for the dwellers.

Dhaka Mayor needs to be jettisoned from the cradle for the myriad instances of his failure to address the city needs.

A city that needs money...lots of money...to run it could take advantage of this situation, by collecting huge rent (depending on type and duration of usage of public space...in this case, pavement) and spending it on many things, such as, building safer, cleaner, greener and wider pavements. In turn, that would encourage people to wake on paverments and reduce dependence on rickshaw for short distance.

This picture is better. If you ever come to Road-13,you will not be able to pass through the road by foot as most of the portion of the road is submerged with sewagrage water. And so stinky .
