Special security meeting with MPs Tuesday

The home ministry will convene a special law and order meeting involving the lawmakers of Dhaka on Tuesday ahead of the pronouncement of the verdict in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassination case.

Officials of the ministry said the move is a part of the total vigilance the government issued across the country to foil any attempts to disrupt law and order ahead of the crucial judgment.

“There will be a total alert across the country till execution of the verdict and there is no scope of leniency in this regard,” Home Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder told The Daily Star.

He said the home ministry would involve all concerned so that no conspiracy regarding the verdict and its execution could be implemented.

About heightened security in the capital, the home secretary said all the suspected persons carrying bags would bring under the security check-up. “The beggars are also under the watch,” he added.
