Two killed in capital

Two people were murdered in separate incidents in the capital on Sunday.

Family sources said Abdur Razzak, 65, was stabbed to death allegedly by snatchers at Rai Shaheb Bazar in Sutrapur area.

A gang of muggers intercepted Razzak while returning to his Rajanighosh Lane residence in Old Dhaka from Gandaria by a rickshaw at about 6:30am.

The criminals stabbed him to death as he resisted them from taking away his mobile phone set. Later, the snatchers left the scene with the mobile set.

His body was taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy.

In another incident, police, on information, recovered the body of Saddam, 22, from Coyandi Circular Road under Motijheel Police Station at about 6:00am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
