PCJSS man abducted in Rangamati

A supporter of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) was kidnapped allegedly by armed cadres of anti-peace treaty United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) from his house at Uluchhari in the town Friday night.

The abducted was identified as Shukkra Sen Chakma, 35, son of Chitra Mohon Chakma of village Uluchhari in the town.

Locals said a gang numbering up to seven led by Sunendu Chakma, a leader of UPDF, came to the house of Shukkra Sen at about 10:00pm and picked him up at gunpoint. Shukkra Sen is an active supporter of PCJSS.

Bodhi Satta Chakma, secretary of PCJSS Rangamati district unit, has condemned the incident and demanded immediate rescue of their supporter.

Shantideb Chakma, Rangamati district unit leader of UPDF, denied the allegations saying PCJSS is hatching a conspiracy against UPDF to halt the democratic movement. UPDF dose not believe in abduction and killing, he added.

“I haven’t heard about such incident. Even no body has come to our police station to lodge any complaint,” said Babul Uddin Sarder, officer in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
