3 killed in Thakurgaon road crash

Three people were killed and 15 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Thakurgaon-Dinajpur highway in Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon on Thursday morning.

Two of the deceased were identified as Ashraful Islam and 22, Sayedur Rahaman, 17, of Nishchintapur village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila while another dead could not be known immediately.

Sub-Inspector of Thakurgaon Police Station Nur Islam told The Daily Star a Panchagarh-bound BRTC bus coming from Khulna collided with a Dinajpur-bound truck at Dodapara village at about 8:30am, killing Ashraful on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where two, including Sayedur Rahaman, died later.
