Biman's Dhaka-NY flight to resume Nov 24

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, the country’s national flag carrier, is likely to spread its wings again to Dhaka-New York route on November 24, a parliamentary body disclosed on Wednesday.

“Biman Bangladesh Airlines has set November 24 as the tentative date for resumption of flights at Dhaka-New York route, a long awaited desire of non-resident Bangladeshi’s in New-York,” Engineer Mosharrof Hossain, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on civil aviation and tourism ministry told The Daily Star after the meeting.

The parliamentary body again asked the ministry to rescue 130 acres of land near runway of Zia International Airport (ZIA), which was given lease to a developer company Ipco to build a golf course and a country club.
