Sahara regrets torture on reporter

Home Minister Sahara Khatun

Home Minister Sahara Khatun on Sunday regretted the torture on a reporter of daily New Age by some Rapid Action Battalion men last week.

"It is very painful if the law enforcers did anything wrong. And I am expressing my sorrow for that," she said while reporters sought her comment over the matter at the ministry.

She said nobody will be spared for his or her misdeed.

Rapid Action Battalion on October 22 picked up FM Masum, a staff reporter of the daily New Age, from his Jatrabari residence and allegedly tortured him in public.

The battalion personnel allegedly beat Masum up and rubbed salt to the injuries and took him to the Rab office.
