Narrow margin victory for Lankans
Sri Lanka managed to pick a narrow-margin victory of five runs against South Africa in a World T20 match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong today.
State-run Bangladesh Television and private channel Maasranga TV telecasted the match live.
Kusal Perera was awarded Man of the Match for his 63-run innings.
South African middle-order Jean-Paul Duminy scored 39 runs while lower middle-orders and tailenders fail to score runs.
Sachithra Senanayeke picked up two wickets with a stingy economy rate of 5.50 for Sri Lanka.
Earlier, winning the toss, Sri Lanka put a competitive score of 166 runs for South Africa to chase.
Sri Lankan opener Perera and middle-order Angelo Mathews scored 61 and 43 runs respectively.
Leggie Imran Tahir picked up three wickets while South African speed demon Dale Steyn on his return, being bit expensive, picked up two wickets along with Morne Morkel two strikes.
Lankans got 10 extra runs.
