Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Khandaker Mahid Uddin said this while talking to reporters at his office, reports our district correspondent.

“The Interpol help has been sought as we suspect that Nur Hossain fled to abroad, he added.

On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four aides -- Tajul, Liton, Swapan and Jahangir -- and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver Ibrahim were kidnapped separately, but around the same time after they came out of the court area in two cars.

Six bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river three days later and another the next day.

Nur Hossain, vice-president of Siddhirganj thana Awami League unit, and his five associates have been made accused in the case filed by Nazrul's widow Selina Islam.

According to locals, Nur Hossain was a drug lord in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj and he operated illegal trade under the nose of local administration.

Complying with a High Court order, police on May 15 seized his movable wealth of his Siddhirganj house.
