A boatload of people, mostly students, is set to cross the Buriganga river from Sadarghat area. Putting their lives at risk, many students from Kamrangirchar and Keraniganj use this mode of transport to come to this side of the river to attend school every day. Participants, trainers, and guests after a training session for RMG and textile professionals about CSR and sustainability, held on Monday on the campus of the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) in Turag. Twenty-six professionals from garment and textile factories from around the country attended the training titled “CSR and the Dutch Covenant on Sustainable Garment and Textile”. This was the second of a series of training workshops initiated by BUFT Centre for CSR and Sustainability (BCCS). The session was delivered by Dr Andre Nijhof, a professor of Nyenrode Business University, Netherlands, and moderated by Mallick Rakibul Hasan, business development manager of BCCS and assistant professor of BUFT. The certificates among the participants were distributed by Prof Dr Ayub Nabi Khan, pro-vice chancellor, BUFT, and Prof Andre Nijhof. Photo: Collected
