Moudud, Rafiqul, Mahbub freed from jail
Three BNP leaders including Moudud Ahmed and Rafiqul Islam Mia were freed from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur this morning as they secured High Court bail in all the cases filed against them.
The other leader is BNP chairperson's adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain.
Mia and Hossain walked out of the jail around 11:20am while
Ahmed around 12:30pm, Jahangir Alam, superintendent of the Kashimpur jail, told The Daily Star.
Earlier around 9:30am, the jail authorities received the High Court documents granting the trio and freed them subsequently, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting the jail super.
Ahmed secured HC bail in all the six cases filed against him on charges of arson attack, vandalism and grabbing a piece of abandoned public land.
On the other hand, Mia secured HC bail in all the five cases he was shown arrested on charges of arson attack and vandalism.
Hossain got HC bail in the two cases filed for arson attack and vandalism.
